Rash guards are a type of athletic shirt. They are made to protect your skin against rashes and harmful UV Rays from sunlight. To make them lightweight and perfect for surfing, rash guards are made with spandex and nylon or polyester.
Is it OK to wear a shirt in the pool?
Normal T-shirts cannot be worn while swimming at public pools. For one, they increase drowning risk by soaking up water and weighing swimmers down. They also pollute the pool water by bringing in germs and cluttering the filtration system with loose strands.
How hard is it to be a lifeguard?
Lifeguard training is underrated in how difficult it is. Of course, you will need to gain a lifeguarding qualification –the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ). The truth is, the test you need to pass to gain your NPLQ is intensive. It requires specialist training in order to be successful.
Who pays for lifeguards on beaches?
Do you receive funding towards the lifeguard service you provide? We receive a small amount from the appropriate local authorities and beach owners which helps to meet the cost of lifeguard wages, but the majority of funding for our lifeguard service is from voluntary contributions.
